11th March, 2018 marks the day when SAMSA officially emerged as a catalyst for facilitating organ donation. On 14th November, 2017 SAMSA took up the cause of organ donation and launched the Donor Cup (an inter-college competition) to spread awareness about organ donation among the people. Since then many events were held by various member colleges. SAMSA members also took part in the Angels of Change program organized by MOHAN Foundation . Many members also received Transplant coordinator training organized by ROTTO (Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization) at SSKM Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.
However, today is the day that we make our own mark. In collaboration with MOHAN Foundation, we have developed our very own organ pledging system effective from today. Here you can express your desire to donate your organs after death and receive a donor card supporting it.
So we urge everyone of you, please consider the change you can bring into a dying person’s life and live on through another person and take a pledge that you will open your heart and mind to the concept of organ donation.
